Uniform update for Middle School:  Navy Blue Polo and Khaki pants

GENERAL APPEARANCE OF UNIFORMS

-Faded pants, shorts or shirts will not be allowed.

-Tucked pant bottoms are prohibited.

-Shirts are to be properly tucked in at all times.

-Pants, skirts, shorts and skorts are never to be worn below the waist.

-Skirts and skorts will fit properly at the waist and finished with a manufactured hem.

-Belts are not to be too long.

-Only HCCS jackets and sweaters; solid navy blue sweaters and sweatshirts (grades K-8); solid maroon or black sweaters and sweatshirts (H.S.)  may be worn in the classroom.

-Jackets, sweaters and sweatshirts are not allowed in mass (sweater vests are allowed on mass day over white shirts).

GROOMING

BOYS

  • Hair must be neatly combed.
  • Hair length must not be over the ears or longer than shirt collar.
  • Hair length must be short, clean, and taped with bangs above eyebrows.
  • No colored hair.
  • No facial hair.

GIRLS

  • Hair must be neatly combed.
  • No fad-style haircuts or highlighted/dyed hair.
  • No unnatural-looking colored or streaked hair: (i.e. blue, red, green, etc.).
  • White-tip nails are allowed.
  • No visible makeup may be worn.
  • Hair accessories must follow the same school colors: forest green, navy blue, or white.

ACCESSORIES

-Jewelry: All students are allowed to wear a Christian religious symbol on a small chain and a watch.
-Girls are allowed to wear only post (stud) earrings. One pair only.
-Boys are not allowed to wear earrings.

-No purses or fanny packs in the classrooms or at church.
-Scarves, bandannas, gloves, fad accessories, are not to be worn.
-Caps and hats are not to be worn in the buildings at any time.

Faith Fridays

All Fridays leading to the last Friday of the month are Faith Fridays. On Faith Fridays, students are allowed to wear faith-based shirts with their uniform bottoms. Alternatively, students may opt to continue wearing their standard uniform.

BOYS

  • Faith-based shirt.
  • Uniform pants.
  • Alternative: Standard school uniform.

GIRLS

  • Faith-based shirt.
  • Uniform bottoms (slacks or skirts).
  • Alternative: Standard school uniform.

Free Dress Days

The last Friday of every month is Free Dress Day.  On Free Dress Day, students are allowed to be out of uniform and wear an outfit of choice.  Students must wear modest clothes and avoid the following:

-Halter, spaghetti straps and strapless tops.
-Low-cut shirts/dresses or partial or bare midriffs.
-Cut-off tops, see-through clothing.
-Clothing with slogans, wording or pictures of a questionable nature.
-Short shorts (shorts must be below the finger tips and above the knees).

-Tight or baggy clothes.
-Long belts.
-Clothing with holes.
-Muscle shirts or sleeveless shirts.
